AILA Leadership Has Just Posted the Following:
What is the deal with Senator Ensign? He cheated on his wife? Don't all politicians do that? (The answer is no, not all politicians do that). So, what is the a big deal? Let me tell you--Because Senator Ensign is a HYPOCRITE! Senator Ensign received a 100% rating (http://www.ontheissues.org/International/John_Ensign_Immigration.htm)from every anti-immigration group (http://grades.betterimmigration.com/testgrades.php3?District=NV&VIPID=558)out there for his stance against immigration reform (http://www.dailyyonder.com/ballot-box-conversation-sen-ensign/2009/06/07/2160)and for his opposition to giving "amnesty" to "illegals."
While adultery is not illegal in Nevada (its not, I checked), I would daresay that if Americans were asked this question--"Do you forgive Adulterous, Cheating Senators, OR Undocumented Immigrants seeking a better life for them and their familes," that resoundingly Americans would say--Dump the Senator and pass Immigration Reform. But wait, Americans are already saying that.
So, Senator Ensign, good for you, you did not break the law in Nevada by committing adultery and cheating on your wife. However, you have sacrificed the "moral high ground" you may have thought you once had. And while your wife is apparently is willing to forgive you, frankly, I doubt anyone else is. So, if by some magic you manage to retain your seat in the Senate, perhaps the next time you are ready to cast aspersions on an entire group of people seeking a better life for themselves, you might want to take that beam out of your own eye first!https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/186823568153827945-7296322357656535794?l=ailaleadership.blogspot.com

Priority Date comes first, and then country limit. Country limit is not respected at the last quarter of each Visa Year (July to Sep).
If you're on EB2, then you're on for approval as soon as everything clears (security check, etc.). If you're on EB3, wait for a while dear. It will not come soon.

PLEASE FILL YOUR PROFILE COMPLETELY.
Now your answers:
1. ................ Yes just H1B xfer, they will extend it upto max of 3 more years.
2. ..................Normally they ask for recent paystubs, but if it is within last 1-2 months it sails through well, w/o triggering RFE. Best option is to do H1b Tranfer under premium processing mode, that way in just few weeks you would know where you stand.
3. ........................ either F1 or H4 or Visitor visa.

I came in US with my family when I was 15-16, back then we were on L2, then as time passed by we switched to H4. Then I turned 21 so I had to go on Student Visa (F1). Still living in US legally.
Now my question is I've been staying in US over 10 years now, legally. I dont know if its rumor or not, but someone told me, that you can apply for Green Card if you lived in US over 10 years legally, is that true?
Going through all that H1B process sounds really hectic. Also all my family members, friends and relatives are here, I don't know anyone back in my birthplace. any suggestions or tips, would help a bit.
thanks :)
No you can not. If you were illegal you could but if you are legal you can not. H1B is the only route for you.

How many foreigners (in all categories) obtained US lawful permanent residence in 2008?
In 2008, 1,107,126 foreign nationals became lawful permanent residents (LPRs) (also known as green-card holders) according to the Department of Homeland Security's Yearbook of Immigration Statistics 2008. The total number represents a 5.2 percent increase from 2007 (1,052,415) and a 31.6 percent increase from 2000 (841,002).

Hi,
Is there any news or updates on the following hearing on 06/12/08. Is there anything we could all do to make this hearing effective for supporting the bills currently on the table.
Thanks

This is getting ridiculous...losing my patience
I think a controlled slow movement is good at the beginning of the year. Last year they had made, for example, EB2 India as April 2004 but they had to make it U after 1st quarter.
So, a controlled slow movement will leave to more un-used numbers in the 3rd quarter when they will then be forced to make big jumps in dates to use up annual visa numbers

Hi, I am a holder G4 visa working on a international institution in Washington DC, USA...and my fiance is a G4 visa holder too, working on other international institution in the same city (we are foreigners, south americans, especifically)...ok...the main issue is that we want to get married next month in USA and sure as G4 visa holders at that time....but on this September, my fiance is going to change his status to a F1 visa, because he is going to pursue his PHD on a US University....and I cannot change my status as dependent of him (F1 dependant), cuz I need to keep working, and I dont know if it is necessary for studying here to have exclusively F1 visa as a foreigner student, or he could become a G4 visa dependant from me, after he stop working to start studying.
...So my question is if we get married before that he changes his status from G4 to F1...would I be able to keep working on any international institution meanwhile he can keep his F1 student visa?, with no need to become a dependent from each other, but to keep, my G4 visa, and his future F1 visa, respectively?
My doubt is based on one comment that i heard from someone, but i am not sure, cuz that person told me, that if my husband changes his visa from G4, resigning my G4 dependent status, i couldn't be rehired later...i tried to get advide from a lawyer but his service is so expensive for me...so i hope someone can help me, cuz this issue is so important for us.
Ps: For more information, my fiancee would have to go to his country and getting his F1 visa and go back to USA as a F1 visa holder....And before that trip...we would like to get married...and meanwhile he is studying with his F1 visa, I can work with no problems with my G4 visa rehired as many times as I am re hired...

The LA Lakers are perhaps the most popular basketball team in the world, but, of course, my loyalty is to the hometown Memphis Grizzlies. One of my favorite players, Spaniard Pau Gausol, left Memphis for the Lakers last year and I still like the guy. Here are the Lakers international team members: Pau Gasol - Forward/Center - Spain Didier Ilunga-Mbenga - Center - Congo Sasha Vujacic - Guard - Slovenia Sun Yue - Guard - China

For EB3 case, after receiving the approval for I 140, I know that we have to wait till DOL Proiority Date is current to be able to file for I485.
If we decide to receive the green card in any consulars overseas, can we just go ahead and file the I485 after getting the I140 approval? (without waiting for PD to be current):
I am sorry to put it to you this way...............
but you are deep inside in a hopeless tunnel and you have delusions that there may be a hole you can escape through. Nope.
