Folks,
I got an RFE (first time) for my 485 and my lawyer responded (sent it through post) on August, 9th, 2010. I am wondering, how long USCIS takes to update the status online? I just want to make sure USCIS received my RFE, that�s all I care.

On September 2, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.
If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.
*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at USCIS Home Page (http://www.uscis.gov) under Case Status and Processing Dates.

Yes, she can come on H4 even she applied for I-485 , only if you are r still on H1B . If u or ur wife dont want to use EAD in near future then it is better to bring her on H4. otherwise coming back on H4 or AP does not make any difference.

Hi All,
I received I485 receipts from my lawyer, they are missing my priority date which is in sept 2002. Not sure why they are missing..
Did any one come across the same situation....

Hi,
My mom is scheduled for an interview for a visitor visa at US Consulate, Chennai. My mom is 70 years old and she will be the only person attending for the interview. She has not travelled a lot and she will not be able to figure out everything that is needed inside the consulate before and after the interview by herself. Now - my question is - Can my mom take anyone (say a relative) with her inside the consulate for help?
Appreciate your help!
No, she cannot carry anyone else except herself inside the consulate. A relative can accompany her till she enters the consulate and your mother can ask for a translator and I am sure there would be people to help her, otherwise too.
But as far as someone accomanying her inside the consulate, NO,
And just in case, even if the relative is able to get in with her, it is not advisable to do so.

one lawyer whom I spoke with says it is still ok...basically they need senior applicants in their field who has done some supervisory work and can do managirial work..I don't know how much it is true.
Yes its true. Since 2008 Canada has been tightening the skilled immigration rules and has now restricted to mainly educated or worked in Canada or few occupations only.
Recently even Alberta has tightened the provincial program as well.

After so many mails my lawyer said that they have applied for my LC on 06/25. After 15 emails, she replied that LC applied means it is still in advertisement phase ... oops .. They had my papers and all forms with them since Mar'07.
This they are not really confirming that where they have advertised and for which category (EB2 or EB3)..

Hi gurus,
I have question to you. I am July 2007 filer. My EAD and My wife EAD expiring on 09-25-2008. I applied both renewal Yesterday(06-24-2008 -90 days before).
recently My wife moved from H1B and working on EAD ( I am still working on H1B).
1. If we wont get EAD cards in time (i.e. before 09-25-2008). What will be her status after 09-25-2008 ?
2. Can she change back to H4 or can she change back to H1?
Please advice me.
